This is a soldier’s diary. A story, told from the frontline in Afghanistan. Everything you read is real.

It tells the story of the men of checkpoint ‘Qudrat’, 3 Para, or as they named themselves –“the lost tribe”.

The 353 Trust has been given permission to share this, so you can recognise the importance of what the young men and women of this country have achieved, and to help raise money for the injured and the families of the fallen.

What were you doing on the day Pte.C.Burtenshaw wrote today’s entry? Find out what was in the news back home and more on the 353 Diary blog.

About The Diary

This is the real diary of a soldier who fought on the frontline in Afghanistan. In his own words, Pte.C.Burtenshaw 3011 6964 3rd Battalion The Parachute Regiment, writes a brutally honest account of his experiences, not just as his therapy, but for his children.

The Diary Of My Afghanistan Tour 2010/2011, portrays the human element of the Afghanistan conflict to help those back home understand, that ‘as much as we love of our jobs and being out here, we are all of us, still human.’

353 is not a number

It is a person. It is inspired by Conrad Lewis. Who became the 353rd soldier in the theatre of Afghanistan to give up everything for what he believed in.

353 is a charitable trust with the aim of helping members of the military community by delivering long-term support to a variety of charities, soldiers and their families. To make as big a difference as possible through partnerships with other organisations. This enables us to achieve our objective of providing a career and income within 353 for those affected by military conflict.
