Hello, just thought I would write a letter to say that everything is all ok here, on the 3rd day of the S day package you have to do.
It’s still red hot out here so getting a nice tan, but the temperature at night is dropping every night. So have to bust the rab out soon.
I am leaving Bastion in a couple of days so making the most of the showers and cooked food. Food is actually amazing out here … I have been eating in the American scoff houses. Cans of pop and ice cream on tap. The yanks are just nuts out here.
Anyways hope everyone is okay and cool. Miss you all loads.
Love

To Dad
Hiya mate just got your e-bluey. I am writing this from camp hattion (Bastion).
On my third day at my S day course. This package you run through everything from zeroing to looking at cameras that take a photo of someone from 6km, unreal. And spy plane things that are controlled by some playstation nerd in the Nevada dessert.
Anyway as promised opened your letter when i got here. And I just wanted to say, dad your the best dad anyone could ever ask for. Its you that filled me with confidence to have the ability to do all the things I have done.
You made me into this nice lad who is also a nasty mother fucker on a gun lol. I can honestly say you are the best dad ever and I am so grateful to have been lucky enough to be born your son.
I am proud of myself and I think thats a dad challenge completed (well mentally, not physically lol.)
Dad, i dunno what your planning lol but I would never be disappointed in you, but I will ask that it has nothing to do with me. No names mentioned, there are 600 paras grafting and not everyone has a dad who is not only amazing but gives a shit.
Ill just sit in the back and smile.
Love you Dad.
PS. sorry if spelling is wank lol.

The Diary Of My Afghanistan Tour 2010/2011, portrays the human element of the Afghanistan conflict to help those back home understand, that ‘as much as we love of our jobs and being out here, we are all of us, still human.’
It is a person. It is inspired by Conrad Lewis. Who became the 353rd soldier in the theatre of Afghanistan to give up everything for what he believed in.
